Acrylonitrile prices have now turned the corner and are moving down. Acrylonitrile demand has seen a slowdown in Asia and Europe and this seems to be a function of the buyers of derivatives slowing their purchases on the expectation of lower acrylonitrile prices. Supply/demand remains in a good balance with no obvious surplus developing at this stage. Feedstock costs have eased once again this month.

The messages that we are receiving about ABS demand in Asia and particularly China, are somewhat mixed. There has been a reduction but we are not so sure it is as drastic as some make out. ABS prices in Asia have fallen.  Margins are very healthy. Chinese domestic ABS prices have eased. ABS demand in Europe and the USA is good. For July, prices have rolled over.
